I recently had the joy of photographing April for her senior portraits in Birmingham, Alabama, and we made the most of some beautiful locations! From downtown Homewood to Railroad Park and a grand finale in an open field, this session showcased April’s personality perfectly.

Downtown Homewood

We started in downtown Homewood, where the colorful backdrops matched April’s bright energy. She was relaxed and ready to go, and I loved capturing her among the murals and cozy walkways. Helping seniors feel comfortable in front of the camera is my priority at the beginning of their sessions, and it was clear April was having fun and feeling confident at this point!

Urban Cool at Railroad Park

Next, we headed to Railroad Park, where the mix of city skyline and lush grasses and greenery created a fantastic contrast. April really shined here! I loved the blue dress she wore – the bright color brought a fun pop of color to each shot and showcased her unique style against the urban landscape.

Golden Hour in the Field

We wrapped up in one of my favorite spots: an open field that’s just magical at sunset. April wore a beautiful flowy midi-dress that looked stunning in the soft light! At the end of her session, I had her walk back and forth in front of the camera, capturing some fun motion blur shots. It was a great way to end a wonderful session – no matter how silly it may have appeared from a distance!
