Senior portrait sessions are what truly began my career in photography and still hold a huge piece of my heart. After 9+ years in business, and over 150 high school seniors and counting, I go into senior portrait sessions to intentionally capture the joy of senior year; whether that joy is captured on a football field in a cheerleading uniform, in an open field with wild flowers all around, or fiercely posing in downtown Birmingham, my goal is to capture the most natural and genuine you.
Worried about what to do with your hands? No need to stress! I’ll guide you through the whole session and pose you naturally from head to toe. We’ll capture a mix of candid moments and formal portraits, giving you an album full of variety that showcases all sides of your personality.

Since launching my business in 2015, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing over one hundred high school seniors, and every great experience starts with a friendly chat!
After you submit your inquiry, we’ll dive into what you’re envisioning for your senior session. I’ll share how the Olivia B. Portrait experience will be uniquely tailored to you, and we’ll start brainstorming dates to get you in front of the camera for your unforgettable session!
Getting in touch with Olivia
Let’s get your session on the calendar! I organize my schedule into four vibrant seasons: Spring (March to early May), Early Summer (May to June), Late Summer (August to September), and Fall (October to early December). I schedule senior portrait sessions on weekday evenings, usually starting 2-3 hours before sunset to catch that perfect light.
Once we find a date that works for both of us, you’ll secure your spot by submitting a $100 retainer payment and signing your session contract. The retainer goes towards the total cost of your session. For your convenience, you can handle all payments and paperwork online!

My goal is to remove any stress from the planning process, so all you need to do is show up ready for stunning portraits and an enjoyable time. I’ve got the details covered so you can focus on having fun!
Planning your session
Along with your senior style guide, you’ll receive a fun and informative questionnaire! This is your chance to let me know what you’re excited about and what you’re hoping to achieve with your session. It’s also a great opportunity to share any concerns or nerves you might have.
Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, I’ll send over a few final recommendations to make sure you’re all set for a fantastic portrait session!

It’s time to bring your portrait vision to life! After we’ve picked out the perfect locations and planned all the details, we’ll meet on-site to start your senior portrait session. I’ll guide and pose you throughout the entire session, so your only job is to relax, have fun, and enjoy every moment of the day!
Shoot day!
In just three weeks, your full online gallery will be ready! You’ll be able to download, share, and print all of your beautifully edited, high-resolution digital files.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! I hope our connection continues long after your portraits are delivered. I love cheering on my seniors as they achieve great things beyond high school. Once you’re an #OBPSenior, you’re always an #OBPSenior!

Even though Spring begins in March, I typically book the most Spring sessions during late April-early May. This is the time the gardens begin blooming and there's finally some green back on the trees! While we may have to deal with the occasional rain reschedule, April and May are absolutely my favorite months to shoot in.

In spite of the heat, I'm a big fan of summer sessions! Because of the later sunset, sessions sometimes begin as late as 6pm. If you’re taking your senior portraits during the summer, I recommend bringing extra makeup and a few towels to make sure you stay fresh throughout your session.

If you’re planning to take your senior photos during the winter, keep in mind that if your session takes place in the evening, we could begin shooting as early as 2:30pm to catch the sunset. I recommend dressing in layers so that in between photos you can warm up. Make sure you bring a little extra makeup and tissues in case your nose begins running.
