Emma’s Graduation Session at The University of Alabama was extra special to me! I have been photographing Emma and her family since 2015, and have captured so many different stages of her life. 

Emma’s Story

Emma is from Athens, Alabama and graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Finance. Her plans after graduation this summer include moving to Birmingham, Alabama for her first job! 

Emma wanted her session to include the classic spots on campus such as The President’s Mansion, Denny Chimes, and Bryant-Denny Stadium. These are always my favorite go-to places on campus when photographing graduating seniors! They make for the most beautiful backdrops and fun photos (cue the champagne popping)!

Emma brought two bottles of champagne to her session for the signature popping photo in front of the stadium.  So long story short, things took a turn quickly, and we ended up breaking BOTH corks off, because they had dried out!  We even walked up to a family and asked the dad to help us, with no such luck!  Emma’s mom quickly drove over to Publix to grab another bottle for the photo (because you can’t end the session without it?!).  I would say the final champagne photo was definitely worth it, and even Mom had to have a little drink after it all! 

So here’s a tip for all my seniors: bring multiple bottles of champagne just to be prepared! 

It’s truly such an honor that Emma has stuck with me since the beginning of my journey of becoming a photographer back in 2015. Her graduation session at The University of Alabama was my favorite yet!  I have loved watching her grow up over the years into the amazing and beautiful young woman that she is today! I know that she is going to do such big things in the adult world. Birmingham is so lucky to be getting her! 

Congratulations, Emma! I wish you ALL the best, and am so excited to live in the same city!
